09/07/1931 Peoples State Bank was named the depository for Winthrop
01/11/1932 Peoples State Bank became Buchanan National Bank of Independence
08/02/1934 It became Farmers State Bank until September 1955.
10/24/1940 Trustees of Peoples State Bank sold to Dr. Harold and Lelia Housholder
10/1940 Dr. Harold and Lelia Housholder sold to Peoples State Bank for $5,000
Unknown 1941 The Housholders sold upper story to Byron Masonic Lodge for $5,000
10/03/1955 The new Peoples State Bank opened
09/1973 Peoples State Bank sold to Cathy Crawford (Cathy’s Supper Club)
